Positively online

Brief

The online world offers many benefits and opportunities for young people. But there are also potential risks, including harm to mental health and wellbeing.

We were tasked to create a campaign to help parents support their children’s online wellbeing, in partnership with Jo Malone.

Approach

A key goal of mine was to make parents feel empowered and equipped to support their children online. To achieve this, I developed a set of illustrations that feature relatable everyday characters, to help encourage parents to start a conversation around online wellbeing.

I created a soft, floaty visual style to emphasise the wellbeing aspect of the online world, as well as showing that it can, and should, be a positive space for children and young people.

We created six online wellbeing top tips and an online wellbeing quiz, all hosted on the NSPCC webpage for parents to use whenever they need it.

Results

We produced all the campaign assets, from concepts through to delivery, in just over a month.

The average time on the landing page was around 9m 22 seconds, versus a target of 1m 40 seconds - showing that people were highly engaged with the content.
